LOW GWP Refrigerant (A2L) Safety Course

As the HVACR industry continues to move forward and innovate, the refrigerants that were once so commonplace are now being phased out.

Replacing them are more energy efficient, environmentally friendlier refrigerants, known as LOW GWP refrigerants. Many of these new refrigerants are classified by A2L, or slightly flammable. The industry is also seeing expanded use of some hydrocarbon (A3) refrigerant, such as propane and isobutane. Students and technicians will require additional training for safe handling and transportation of these refrigerants.

Course Description

This online course in partnership with ESCO covers the latest standards, practices, procedures, and codes HVACR professionals need to safely work with mildly flammable refrigerants. This course allows users to interact with the content by reading, hearing, seeing, and validating their knowledge as they progress through the program.

This is a preparatory course ONLY and does not include the examination or the cost of the examination.
Individuals completing this course will be prepared for ESCO Institute's Low GWP Refrigerant Safety Certification exam. The certification exam is purchased separately through ESCO and MUST be proctored.
