Plumbing Apprenticeship

PHCC Academy® offers online plumbing apprentice courses for apprentices who need a non-classroom based method of Related Technical Instruction. This program is recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment & Training Administration, Office of Apprenticeship, as a reasonable option for apprentice training. Each course is the equivalent of one year of classroom instruction which is 156 hours.

PHCC Academy® courses offer a standardized learning experience for company training, with course materials developed by industry experts and instructional designers.

It is the apprentice’s responsibility to confirm that Related Technical Instruction is accepted in their state. On-the-job training must be coordinated with a participating employer.

Program Highlights:

• Structured Learning: Complete 576 Related Technical Instruction (RTI) hours over four years (144 hours annually). Each course year must be completed within one year, with optional six-month extensions available.
• Flexible Enrollment: Apprentices can be registered into the DOL's RAPIDS system based on contractor needs.
• Credential: Earn a certificate recognized industry-wide, ensuring you're ready for high-demand roles in residential and commercial plumbing.

  • Hydronic and steam heating, heat pumps, and blueprints
  • In-depth plumbing codes, fuel gas piping, and specialized systems (healthcare, non-potable water)
